Tenute Caracci grows different varieties of wine grapes. From international – such as Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, and Merlot – to local such as Muscat, Grillo, Nero d’Avola and, recently also Glera.

Red and white grapes, the Tenute Caracci vineyards on the Belice hills

The vineyards are located in the hills of trapani, embracing an area characterize by different areas in terms of climate and soil structure, as the altitude ranges from 400/450 to 250 metres above sea level.

The red grapes grow well in the area between two rives, the Belice and the Modione, enriched with organic and silty substance from the two waterways.
The white grapes of the Grillo, Catarratto, Glera varieties prefer hilly areas that even exceed 450 meters in height.
Thanks to the loose soils and the temperature range between day and night, Tenute Caracci grapes retain unique aromas and fragrances throughout the province of Trapani.

The Prosecco grape, the Glera variety

Tenute Caracci is a pioneer in Sicilian cultivation of the Glera variety, known in Veneto as Prosecco. Planted in the wine growing area at an altitude of 400 meters, each year the vineyard produces golden yellow grapes, which are not very acidic and full of the perfumes and aromas that express the sweetness of the Sicilian territory.
